DRIFTING DOLPHINS

OUR BALLOON:
Drifting Dolphins is a 2002 Lindstrand 90A (90,000 cubic feet) Hot Air Balloon which was manufactured by Lindstrand USA in Galena, Illinois, USA. Margaret and George designed the envelope to reflect their love of nature and dolphins in particular. The front has the life-size silhouette of a dolphin gracefully leaping in an ocean sunrise. The back shows the life-size silhouettes of two dolphins frolicking in the same dawn. Click to see some of our Balloon Pictures.
OUR FLIGHTS:
George is a Private Pilot who flies family, friends, and crew members for pleasure. Margaret frequently serves as Crew Chief, which means that she directs the chase and recovery of Drifting Dolphins after takeoff. Most of our flights last about an hour, and we enjoy sharing a post flight celebration with our passengers and crew. Like most balloonists, we fly either at dawn or shortly before sunset because that is when the winds are gentlest for ballooning. We usually fly in rural St. Clair County, Illinois, and get wonderful views of the Illinois countryside and the St. Louis skyline, but sometimes we venture away from our home county.
CREWING:
Every flight requires the help of ground crew. We have numerous friends who enjoy crewing for our flights, but are always looking for more crew to participate. It is a great way to have fun and learn more about ballooning. Click on the picture below for more information about Crewing.
